Be Well with Acupuncture
Acupuncture moves the qi (energy) of the body and gives us a tangible experience of being relaxed and uplifted.  Our cells hold memories of our life experiences.  For many of us, our cells have been marinating in stress and worry for many years.  Chinese Medicine, which includes acupuncture, reminds our bodies how we are in our normal state of being, which happens to be relaxed and at ease.
When qi isn’t flowing smoothly (due to stress, emotions or injury) there are many ways this may manifest in the body.   We may experience pain, anxiety, restless sleep, poor digestion, PMS, infertility or tension.   In acupuncture, we use hair-thin needles to move the qi, which alleviates this physical and emotional discomfort.

In Chinese medicine, each organ has an element and emotion related to it. For example, the liver is of the wood element.  When the liver is out of balance, we get irritable and angry.  When it is balanced, we are able to make plans and carry them out with confidence and clarity.  During the late summer, the earth element is prominent.  (This is because traditionally it is the time of year where we’ve harvested from the earth.)  The stomach and spleen are related to the earth element since they take in the food we eat and transform it into useful energy and nourishment.
